Free circuit in the old center of Pertuis, suggested by the Tourist office.

Discover Pertuis for one hour it is possible. Since the Mirabeau place, name of this famous figure of the French political thought, (he was baptized in the Church Saint Nicolas), you go towards the Town hall by the street Voltaire, and towards the course of the Republic, by the street Danton. Whereas the centre town carries in its street names some marks of its constructive rebellion, it raises on its yellow and red blazon, the flower of Lily.

When you seize the originality of this small town, end of the Department of Vaucluse, Capital of the Country d' Acute, southern part of Luberon, you will find during etymological with the Country of Aix, agglomeration of the Mouths of the Rhone to which Pertuis belongs today.

Panels reporting the history of important monuments of the local inheritance mark out your circuit. They are 10. Thus of the Mirabeau place, turn back on the Keep and almost on the left opposite, between early product and the porkbutcher, descend the street Notre Dame so that you pass in front of the Notre Dame laundrette. From there, go up towards the street Boileau, then the street Droite will make you discover the site of a house of tradesman, the Old Stall. Right street, continue towards the street Saint Pierre, and you will go down on the place from  Angel. You will have an explanation on this place and will discover the house known as of François 1st, the fountain, and the very beautiful residence of the consuls.

Place of  Angel, descend the street Vaillante, then the street Basse. In bottom of the street, you will see the Tower Jacques Saint, which you will be able to detail in all his architecture. Reconsider your steps and borrow the street Saint Jacques, you will pass in front of a very pretty laundrette. From there, you go up in the street Grande, then turn on your line on the level of the street Bayon, take then the first on the left, and turn over towards the street Beaujeu. With l' angle and very oddly located, you will be surprised by a very beautiful palate mannerist that l' one called, the House of the Jeanne Queen. Circumvent the building to arise on the place and join the Church Saint Nicolas, in the interior you will be astonished. Building not finished, of Gothic style blazing, it contains fabrics of provençaux Masters, and one orant with the virgin d' a very beautiful delicacy. The Church, you will be able to descend until Town hall by the street Voltaire. Sluice has a common house as of the end of the XIV century, but this is in 1793, that the private mansion of the family of Croze became the town hall.

Whereas you are Pertuisien or simple visitor, take time to borrow the circuit of discovered of the Old city. It will take along to you to make a small round through the history of Sluice. You will not see any more, then, Pertuis like front.

The current centre town of Sluice is on the Mirabeau place, where the bell-tower, which is the old Keep of the castle, elevated in 1607, shelters the Tourist office today. Descend the street Notre Dame and visit on your line Notre Dame the laundrette, known as “of the Lice”. It is a laundrette “troglodyte” established in 1882 in the enclosing wall of the city. To take the street Boileau, the street of Iron and right afterwards in the street Droite you will discover an old stall over which the tradesman or the craftsman spread out his goods.

Continue in the street Saint-Pierre with the end with the angle of the street, the house known as of François 1st. On October 5, 1522, after the invasion of Provence by Charles Quint, François 1st on the way for Italy would have been accomodated in this residence. Crossings with mullions of the principal frontage are still guessed, but it is the monumental gate of the street Saint-Pierre of style mannerist which evokes the old richness of this residence. On the place of the Angel; the Fountain of the Angel which is the oldest fountain of the city, it was rebuilt in 1509. The actual position goes back to 1620: octagonal basin, ballot box godronnée (oval ornament of lengthened form) in the center whose 4 masks, used by time, pour water.

Always on the place of the Angel, the House known as of the Consuls, with his embossing of angle and its niche with saint in half dome. This house of notable would have been built at the 17th century by the family Spigoni or Spain which gave to the town of many consuls.

Continue straight to the Vaillante streets and Low you will see the Saint-Jacob Tower, this tower was also called Tour of Are born (place or one steeped hemp). Opened with the throat, i.e. towards the interior of the city, it shelters 2 rooms arched in cradle ordering 3 loopholes.

Continue straight to the street Calade, to take the street Saint-Jacob and with the angle of the street of the Furnace, is the Saint-Jacob laundrette. The fountain-laundrette current built by Louis Chaffard, mason of the city in 1851, presents a water dresser summoned of a pediment, on a basin of clover plan. Two small side guns pour their water there.

Continue street Grande and street Beaujeu, discover the house known as of the Jeanne Queen, mythical name pure a " small palace maniériste" end of XVI century.

Continue straight to the street of the Church and you arrive in front of the Saint Martin Church. Saint Nicolas's Day is more the blazing Gothic good example of style built in Provence. To take street Voltaire on the right: the Town hall, Pertuis has a common house as of the end of XIVème century. But it is into 1793 that the private mansion of the family of Croze became the Town hall.

• Castle of Lourmarin

• Castle of the Tower of Aigues

Property of the General advice of Vaucluse. The castle offers important vestiges of the Renaissance part. Set fire to in 1780 and 1792, it was restored for certain parts. • Abbey of Sylvacane
