Parc Domaine de Vizille
The Domaine de Vizille is a vast field, including a 250 acres park, a rose garden, a lot of centenarians trees, a pony carousel, a miniature train, a wildlife park and the castle of the «Duc du Lesdiguieres». The Domaine de Vizille is the most attended site of Isere, it seduce the visitors by is ancient and diverse activities (park, castle, museum). Built in the seventeenth century, the castle is now a historical museum of the French Revolution, to tell you the truth, it is in the Château de Vizille that the French Revolution was started, on July 21st, 1788, in a extraordinary assemblies of the three orders (the church, the nobleman's and the third state). This explains one of the reason why the museum was installed inside the castle. The museum is devoted to the most crucial and important part of French history in Vizille. At least a hundred of acres, called "remarkable garden", is surrounding the castle. In the animal park, we can see majestic deer and birds evolving in the castle grounds. In the past, a certain perimeter was dedicated to a hunting race for the Duc de Lesdiguieres.
