Marais Salants de Guérande
The salt marshes of Guérande, located near Brittany, is an outstanding World Heritage site. The area is also a production of sea salt and a place where you can observe many species from a wide wild Fauna and Flora.
The salters, working between Guérande and the Croisic peninsula, are harvesting more than 12,000 tons of salt per year, in a traditional way, thanks to a geographical location and unique geological. The workers are helded by a large range of salt production facilities.
Classified area since 1979, for the conservation of birds, salt marshes are also home Guérande mammals such as otters and many marine animals and amphibians.
