Tourism Bassin d'Arcachon
Bassin d’Arcachon is an area of salted water situated in Landes of Gascogne, in Gironde, between the cities of Teste-de-Buch in the South, Lège-Cap-Ferret on the West and the delta of Leyre in the East. Côte d’Argent, which extends of the river Adour in the estuary of the Gironde, is constituted by a cordon of 250 km, interrupted only by the Bassin of Arcachon. Unlike the big lakes from the Landes, it is widely opened on the Atlantic Ocean through the master passes of the Bassin d’Arcachon and constitutes a small 155 km² inner sea in high tide and of 40 km ² in low tide. .
