Sauzé-vaussais city

Property of the Coulleau family Of Vigneau in 1463, this pigeon belonged to the buildings of the royal Post office of Sauzé.

The original architecture, the pigeon of the Royal Post office consists of a square base, bored of 4 vaults semicircular arch. The keystone is finely carved with the weapons of the Coulleau family of the vigneau.

The stage containing 260 putlog-holes octagonal, is bored of a door of access framed of 4 indecipherable blazons to be hammered during the revolution. The passage of the pigeons was done by the two dogs sitted opened at the origin with the SO and NO.

The ruins of pigeon were given to the Commune in 1993. Work of clearing and disassembling began at the beginning of Nov. 1993 and was completed fine DEC 1996. It was transported and gone up in 1999 on deviation RD948. Part of its vault was voluntarily left open in order to see the terra cotta putlog-holes and frames it in châtaigner.

The current site of pigeon can be intended to become rest an area, the Commune having acquired and cleaned contiguous glazing bar.

 The tower of the clock left ground in 1840. it was the central point of the markets, which accomodated on the 1st floor the services of the Town hall and the district court.

It is about 1824, that the inhabitants of Sauzé and the merchants have advertisement the installation of a clock.

In 1839, the Town hall decides the construction of a square tower in order to install the famous municipal clock. But the Council finally gave up its project with the profit of construction on the markets of a room of town hall and district court, and a bell-tower (the current tower).

Later, at the beginning of XX, the rooms were destroyed and only the tower was preserved.
