The stevenson trail

Things to see in Florac :

• The historical city centre 
• The castle of Florac and its "espace Cévennes" 
• The "Source du Pêcher" a spring 
• Rochefort view point

Starting from Florac to the village of Chasseradès. Visit of the village of Chasseradès and its beautiful church. Short treck to the mountain of Goulet.

The path goes up to the peak of Finiels (1699m) from where Stevenson had a great view on the protestant Cevennes.

The trail goes up the massif of Bougès (1420m) and goes down the Tarn valley.

Stevenson made his way into the Cévennes via the Valley of the Mimente and the historical village of Saint Julien.

The trail leads through chestnut forests before arriving at Saint-Germain de Calberte, a typical village of the Cévennes.

The trail follows the river Gardon through the village of Saint Etienne in the Vallée Française and then climbs up to the Saint-Pierre pass. From Saint-Jean du Gard, a bus will take you back to Florac.
