Tourism Nancy
Nancy is a town located in north-eastern France in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department.
The Place Stanislas, Place de la Carrière, and Place d'Alliance were added on the world heritage sites list by the UNESCO in 1983.
It was principally the work of the “Ecole de Nancy”, a group of artists founded by Emile Gallé that made Nancy a centre of art and architecture that competed with Paris and gave the city the nickname "Capital of the East". Many Art Nouveau buildings remain around the town. Other pieces of the decorative arts are gathered at the Musée de l'École de Nancy, which is located in the villa of Eugène Corbin, a Nancy businessman and fan of the Art Nouveau.
The cathedral of Nancy is a beautiful example of 18th century architecture. There is also many gardens to visit, botanical garden, garden Dominique Alexandre Godron, the Pépinière and Parc Sainte-Marie.
