Town situated between Brie and Champagne, landsacpes of hills, vines and forests, castles and abbeys.


Church Saint-Rémi (17th century).

Built on the location of the former fortified castle it was almost totally destroyed during the religion wars at the Middle Age. In 1606, the lord of Esternay had rebuilt it. The steeple looks like a tower and was built between the 15th and the 18th century. One of the paintings inside was offered by 1st Napoléon 1st. On the apse key, there a coat of arms with 3 lilies.

Castle in the Henri IV style where Marcel Proust stayed for a while.
Beautiful walk in the gardens and the farm. Pidgeon house and frescos representing the tales of Jean de la Fontaine.
Open 1st July to September 30, the Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays afternoon from 13.15pm to 17.15pm. Visit every hours.

Ruins of the former abbey built from the request of Clovis, king of the Francs. You can see the church ruins dating back to the 11th century. The monks left the abbey in 1674.
