Gard is a French department located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It is surrounded by the departments of Bouches-du-Rhône, Ardèche, Vaucluse, Hérault, Aveyron and Lozère. The highest point in the department is Mount Aigoual (1567 m) located in the Cévennes. Gard is a welcoming department where the sun shines 250 days a year on average and that benefits from 23 km of seacoast, 465 listed monuments, 3,000 km of walking paths and the biggest marina in Europe Port-Camargues.

Finally, Nîmes, the main city in the Gard department that combines contemporary art with historical heritage and organise shows in the arenas and several festivals take place throughout the year such as the famous Nîmes Feria in May.
