Tourism - Alpes-Maritimes

The Alpes-Maritimes department located in the south east of France along the Mediterranean Sea is the place of the world renowned Côte d'Azur. Its mountainous coastline plunges straight down into the sea. At certain times of the year it can be difficult to choose between going to ski or going to swim as the slopes and the sea are only an hour drive apart. Here the sun is shining 320 days a year.

From Cannes to Nice going through Antibes and Menton all the way to the Italian border this area is not only beautiful but also prestigious. The old quarters of Nice, the hills covered with umbrella pines, thyme plants, laurel trees and olive groves, Grasse and its perfumes, the Alps with their snowy peaks and their sunny ski resorts, the 325 km of navigable, the park of Mercantour a natural reserve sheltering many species of animals and plants.

There are world renowned events that take place annually here such as the Nice Carnival for Mardi Gras, the Jazz Festival in Juan-les-Pins, and the Cannes Film Festival.
