Tourism Voiron

Voiron is located in the Rhone-Alpes and more specifically the department of Isere, in the foothills of the Regional Park of Chartreuse. 

The reputation of the city comes out of its traditional market of Wednesday morning, one of the oldest and largest of the Region and the famous St. Martin's Fair, held every year since 1356. 

Food lovers are also in Voiron to visit the largest wine cellars in the world to liquor, the Caves of Chartreuse Carthusian where the secret is well kept. They continue with a tasting in the world cocoa scent of chocolate Bonnat, a recent work in France the chocolate from the bean to the finished product. 

Heritage enthusiasts can visit the Museum Mainssieux, free to discover the works of local painter Lucien Mainssieux. They will also visit the Church of St. Bruno as Voironnais gladly call "cathedral." Indeed, although of recent construction (1864), this building is inspired by the medieval cathedrals. They can also wander around the pedestrian streets of Voiron and go for a walk on the hill of Notre Dame de Vouise, pretext of many legends, and the top of which the view is superb on the Vercors and Chartreuse. 

Voiron is located only 15 km from Lake Paladru, 5th natural lake in France.
