Villeneuve-sur-lot

• The 'Pénitents blancs chapel': Built in 1657, the brotherhood of the 'pénitents blancs' had the collective task to help and support their fellow members who were sick or poor.
• The old bridge: In the past, both banks of River lot were linked by a wooden, weak and dangerous bridge. 
• The Chapel of the end of the bridge: The legend says that three boats coming from Quercy bringing oat, wine and fruits were stopped by a mysterious force right in the middle of the Lot River, by the bridge.

The mill of Gajac was referred from 1264 in the foundation act of the bastide de Villeneuve-sur-Lot. It was then transformed as a flour mill in the 19th century.

The museum of Gajac is housed in the old mill that is located on the bank of the river, in the heart of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. it houses an important collection of fine art and organizes numerous temporary exhibitions. 

The local gastronomy presents the famous Foie Gras, Confit d'Oie and Canard, Cassoulets, Magrets, Agen Prunes.

A day in the farm to visit the workshop where these delicacies are made and to follow the transformation step by step of the primary product to the final one.

The archeological site Excisum has Roman ruins dating from the 1st century. The exhibition contains: Pieces of pottery, coins, every life objects, marbles and statues.

A boat ride on River Lot in the heart of the Serres area.

This very important feudal fortified castle of Bonaguil is located in Saint-Front-sur-Lemance, in the north-east of the Lot-and-Garonne, and built on a high rock between the Theze and the Lemance valleys. The formation of the buildings depicts the evolution of technologies of defence from the Middle age to Renaissance.

Originally, it was a dungeon with five walls dating from the 13th century, transformed and completed from 1445 by Lord Jean de Roquefeuil. It then became the home of Bérenger de Roquefeuil (1448-1530) son of Jean de Roquefeuil, in 1483 until 1520 and adapt it to techniques of defense using firearms.

Rainfort the 1st, Lord of Montpezat founded the Commandery of Temple de Breuil at the end of the 12th century.

During the 14th century, the village became a place for resting for pilgrims and also a main place for fluvial traffic and business.

In 1789, the Revolution ended the historical role of the Commandery. Today, the Commandery is a bar/restaurant.

Not to forget the Water sport centre located on the bank of River Lot and its garden Latour Marliac.
