Arboretum de Pézanin


Pezanin Arboretum is a great botanical site 27 ha, located in Burgundy Dompierre-les-Ormes. It revolves around the pond of 4 ha Pezanin, inhabited by carp and pike. It was created in 1903 by a botanist, Philippe de Vilmorin, in order to consolidate a large number of species from different parts of the globe. Its management is done since the 1960s by the National Forestry Office. Today, the Arboretum Pezanin is counting more than 450 species of trees. It is thus possible to discover a rich and varied flora, through the marked trails and guided tours. Each species is presented, whether the lumber, maple or redwood of China whose size is truly impressive. It is thus possible to walk, rest, or to picnic and discover the different varieties present. Three circuits 1km 1km5 are offered to visitors, one providing access to disabled people. Thematic collections created through the support of Ushuaia is also to discover, for example, the collection of Rhododendrons, the collection of oaks, or the trees of the forest in Asia.
