Musée d'histoire de Mimizan

The History Museum of Mimizan propose to discover the history of the region, and a virtual tour of the priory of Mimizan. It is thus possible to discover its changes during the story. Visitors will have the opportunity to walk in 6 parts of the museum. The first "Geology and Geography" presents the geological evolution of the region of Mimizan. The second part, devoted to the prehistoric exhibits of prehistoric tools found in archaeological sites nearby. Explanations of the funeral rites are presented in a section on early history. A space dedicated to the Romans shows visitors the evidence of the presence of the people in the region. In a fifth part, the remains of the medieval heritage are presented. Finally, a space is devoted to ancient crafts that were practiced in the department of Landes.
