Château de Sully-sur-Loire

The Château de Sully-sur-Loire was built in the 14th century. Its history is linked to its most famous owner, Maximilien de Béthune, first duke of Sully and minister under Henri IV. This amazing example of a medieval fortress stands from the bottom of the moats to the top of the towers in a wonderful park and is a symbol of the medieval period.

The Chateau de Sully-sur-Loire was listed as a French historical monument in 1962 and was given its beauty back thanks to many restorations. The castle also houses many tapestries, sculptures and other pieces of art as well as peculiar furniture and the famous Tenture de Psyché, a huge tapestry from the 17th century.
