Tourism Grenoble: The capital of the Alpes
Grenoble is located in the French Alpes, prefecture of Isère, in the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region, unique position that makes it the capital of the Alpes.
Mountain sports are an important part of tourism Grenoble. The city is indeed surrounded by twenty ski resorts whose nearest (Sappey-en-Chartreuse) is only ten minutes away from Grenoble. The city is also known for its scientific research centers and universities.
At the festivities, Grenoble hosts several festivals such as the Jazz Festival in March, le Festival du court métrage in July and Cabaret Frappé at the end of July. Summum, the largest concert hall in the city, home to the most famous artists.
