The Deux-Sèvres department is located in the Poitou-Charentes region in the centre west of France. It offers a variety of different landscapes, with hilly and green countryside and many little rivers.

Visitors can take the opportunity to enjoy nice walks and admire the impressive sizes of the ‘Tumulus de Bougon’ dating from prehistory time. As well as the visit of the medieval city of Parthenay, Oiron Castle, the city of Niort and its dungeon, Romanesque churches from Melle, Guyonière castle and its medieval garden.

In the south of the department of Deux-Sèvres, in the heart of the forest, the Zoodyssée in Chizé shelters many different European wildlife species.
