L'Isle-Adam is a city in north central Ile Val-d'Oise located on the left bank of the Oise at twenty-five miles as the crow flies north-north-west outskirts of Paris, a dozen northeast of Pontoise and thirty-five south of Beauvais. It forms with Parmain, a town near the right bank of the Oise, a small community of about 16,000 inhabitants. Its inhabitants are called Adamois and Adamoises.
