At the heart of Regional Natural Park of Causses of Quercy, Saint-CirqLapopie and Cele valleys Lot drew this magical country whose beauty ismatched only by the sweetness of life.
The village of St. Cirq Lapopie,perched on a cliff overlooking the banks of nearly 100 meters is one of themajor sites of the Lot valley. Chief town of one of the four viscounties Quercy, Saint-Cirq Lapopie was divided in the Middle Ages between fourfeudal dynasties, the Lapopies, Gourdon, Cardaillacs and Castelnau .. Below the fortress, the village streets, sealed with fortified gates, have retainedmany old houses with facades of stone or wood sides mostly date from the thirteenth to the sixteenth century. Narrow, they are characterized by theirtiled roofs, flat to steep slopes.
