Tourism Pau : A modern city

Pau is the capital of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques département and the Bearn Region in France, bordering the Pyrenees.

With its glorious past, and one of the most beautiful views of the nearby Pyrenees, Pau is undoubtedly the best destination to discover a place filled with history and natural beauty.

Take a walk on the magnificent Boulevard des Pyrenees with its palm trees in the background and all around, admire the city’s amazing architecture and breath the refreshing purity of the air.

The Boulevard goes through the city front, leading from the amazing park of Beaumont to the wonderful Castle de Pau, well known for being the birthplace of Henri IV, king of France and the Navarre, the Castle also played an important role of fortress under Gaston Fébus and was a residence to the royal families of the Renaissance. The tapestry, towers, gardens and keeps are the remains of a rich history and the royal city of Pau has lost none of its chic appeal with its exotic gardens, striking villas and beautiful architecture.
