Tourism Leucate
Port Leucate is the result of a development of the tourist coast of Roussillon, which began in the mid-1960s under the aegis of the Interministerial Mission for tourism development of coastal Languedoc-Roussillon, in order to retain on the Cotes du Languedoc Nordic tourists who traveled to Spain.
Port-Leucate has a sumptuous and refined development of great beauty : green lawn, illuminated fountains, sandy beach, palms.
Tourism is the main activity of Port Leucate.Indeed, the town of Leucate has about 2450 inhabitants but in the summer of Port Leucate, with eighteen miles of exceptionally sunny beaches, attracts over 60 000 tourists.
The marina can accommodate 1100 boats.
