Constricted between Lay and a former arm of the river, the town of the Pivot stretches over 12 km with an average width of 700 meters and an area of only 1043 hectares.Anciennement 'Eguillon the' at meaning of "sharp point", it gave its name to the bay and the town.This is the handle of the Pivot which arc almost perfect runs over twenty miles.The site is still very wild.It is frequented mainly by BOUCHOLEURS who operates on the edge of the estuary of thousands of piles on which they raise mussels.
