Indre is a French department that is part of the Centre region. The major cities are Châteauroux, Le Blanc, La Châtre and Issoudun. And the main tourist sites are La Brenne, Châteauroux and le Val de l’Indre, Issoudun and Champagne Berrichonne, Boischaut-Sud and Val de Creuse.

Leisures opportunities are: The little ‘le Blanc-Argent’ tourist train in Salbris and the Leisure park of Foulquetière in Lucay-le-Mâle. Dinner parties in the Valencay Castle dressed in historical costumes. Visiting Parpeçay earthenware factory, the parchment papers factory in Levroux or visiting farms, small castles, growers, and craftsmen of Valencay region.

There are also numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, horse riding in the Cherine natural reserve, around the Blizon pond, Bellebouche and the sentier de Beauregard with the Parc Naturel Regional’s House.

Cultural events are: DARC festival in August and the ‘Salon du Livre’ in November in Châteauroux.
