Tourism Chambery
Chambery is a city of the department of Savoie, located in the Rhone-Alps region in south eastern France. It is the capital of the Savoy and is the historic capital of Savoy since the 13th century when Amadeus V of Savoy made the city's seat of power.
The old town retains evidence of the glorious past through the old mansions of the nobility and the Rue de Savoie Boigne. In addition, the Account Boigne financed the construction of a theater in 1824, now called the Charles Dullin theater named after the famous actor Savoy.
Visitors can also discover some beautiful green spaces, as well as Verney garden statues such as the Fountain of the Elephants, commemorating the exploits of the Earl of India Boigne or the statue of the Sasson showing the annexation of Savoy to France in the eighteenth.
