Vire

The Vire hedged farmland is a humid region. Le Vire is the main river. It takes its source in the south of the Vire, in the Channel. It flows through the town of Vire and its Hedged farmland on 65 km to Pont-Farcy. Finally, it ends up in the sea, in the channel in Isigny-sur-Mer.

Here, the granite is called 'bleu de Vire' because of its colour. It can be found in the west of the region near Vire and Saint-Sever. Before it used to be extracted for the rocks and was used for construction.
