Black Perigord that is part of the Sarladais area is a prehistory centre including the Vezere Valley and the Dordogne Valley. the landscapes are very beautiful and this since prehistory. Montignac, Lascaux, Font-de-Gaume, Les Eyzies, Le Bugue, Limeuil, Terrasson, Saint-Cyprien and Sarlat are the major places of interests.

Along the Dordogne Valle,y there are the castels of Monfort, Beynac and Castelnaud.

The Black Perigord owes its name to the very dense oak tree forests present in this region, the oak tree having a very dark and dense foliage.

The Purple Perigord is located at the mouth of the Dordogne, in the Bergerac area.

From Pecharmant to Monbazillac the wines of Bergerac are famous and the French and English old country houses remind the past and the social life back then. Its colour is the one of the grapes growing here.

The White Perigord, the land of Perigueux and the Isle Valley is located in the centre of the department on chalky soils and large meadows where Rivers Auvezere and Isle are flowing through.

From Hautefort and Montpon via Perigueux, the capital of Dordogne, the White Perigord host the cities and villages of Savignac-les-Eglises, Sorges and the truffles, Saint Astier, Neuvic and Mussidan.

In the north, the Green Perigord included in the Nontron and Val de Drone areas, is located the Perigord-Limousin Regional Natural Park, which is a green haven with numerous streams and rivers.

Bandiat, upper valleys of the Isle and Auvezere run through the land that starts from Noaille until Roche-Chalais passing by Saint Aulaye, Nontron, Brantome, Bourdeilles and Riberac.
