Ile-de-france : dreaming sites

Its 12th and 13th century ramparts, the Tower César, today the bell tower of the collegial church of Saint-Quiriace (11th century),  the historical underground chambers, houses with timber-frame walls, every building in Provins contributes to make it one of the finest medieval sites in the region, including outstanding theatre with numerous historical performances.

In Moret-sur-Loing :

• Conservatoire du Vélo. On 3 floors, this impressive collection displays bicycles ranging from the hobby horse to the high-wheeler.
  Here you will learn about the developments and revolutions that have made the bicycle so beloved of the French people.
  
• Sugar Museum of the nuns. Produced by Benedictine nuns since 1638, the Rousseau family "took up the torch" of the factory in the 1970's. Boiled sweets or candy sticks, the speciality of the town must be discover in this family museum through a video performance and a tasting session.

• Santa claus Museum
  Today the cheese dairy immortalised by J.F. Millet in his painting "Les Glaneuses" homed now the Santa Claus Museum and the Media-Museum for sound and image equipment.
  
• Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte
  The harmony of the castle, the magnificence of the gardens designed by Le Nôtre and the beauty of the ensemble are such ingenious that Nicolas Fouquet incurred the wrath of the jealous Louis XIV. The other creators obtained the favour of the king, who employed them later to build Versailles.

• Museum Promenade in Marly-le-Roi
  Built on a remarkable site, this museum evoques Marly in the 17th and 18th century and the country residence of Louis XIV, through its original architectural design and numerous water gardens.
• Museum Rambolitrain
  A museum that is unique in France, the "Rambolitrain" recreates the fabulous and never-ending story of the railways with 4000 pieces and 400 m of rail train.
• France miniature
  This exceptional park consists in a wide map of France covering 5 hectares that you explore on foot, admiring some 160 of the country's main monuments reduced to a 1/30 scale.
