Altkirch, capital of sundgau

There are about 120 cultural or sports events organised throughout the year in Altkrich. The 'Centre Rhenan d'Art Contemporain' is a place where we can meet artists and that organises exhibitions, previews, workshop for children and so on.

The Sundgau region is an attractive and relaxing area as well as being a gourmet's place. To discover it, one has to try the local specialties such as the famous fried carp.

Carspach is a charming village that has a superb castle like building built under the reign of Baroness Philippine de Reinach. The Baron de Sonneberg became the owner in 1870. the priest Ellerbach bought the castle in order to turn it into a spa according to the Kneipp Method. Today a professional school (Sonneberg Institute) owns it.

Hirtzbach is a typical Sundgauvian village, very well decorated with flowers and numerous half-timbered houses. In front of the Reinach family's castle dating from the 18th century, there is a park where the last ice house of the Sundgau region.
