The village of Arc-en-Barrois is situated in the Vallée de l'Aujon on the Plateau of Langres at the border of the Côte-d'Or region.


Cistercian Abbey of Longuay

The Cistercian abbey of Longuay remains are the former attic and a part of the cloister.

Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption church  is in gothic style but possesses some  Renaissance elements and dates back to 1554

Eleven paintings representing the phases of the Life of the Virgin, Childhood and Passion of the Christ are exposed to the church. They were painted by Prévost de Gray (16th century).

You will admire wall paints of the 16th century, painted wood panels from the same era with the Virgin surround by the litanies and a retable of the master altar that dates back to the 17th century.

The Castle of Arc-en-Barois

The castle was constructed in 1845 by the Princess of Orléans for his brother king Louis-Philippe.

Today a private domain. Visit of the gardens only.
