The calvados coast

Honfleur is a port and a town located in the Calvados department on the right bank of the Seine, facing the Havre and very near the Normandie Bridge.

The town id famous for its picturesque port, and its slates covered houses and to have been the cradle of many famous painters such as Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet et Johan Barthold Jongkind.

Deauville is a town located in the Calvados department in the Basse-Normandie region.

It is a sea side resort and is considered as one of the most prestigious sea resort in France, thanks to its casinos, congress palace, film festival, golf courses and night clubs. Each year Deauville attracts thousands of visitors of which many parisians as Paris is not far.

Trouville-sur-mer is a town located in the department of Calvados and the Basse-Normandie region.

This former fishermen village is a famous holiday destination in Normandy.

Ouistreham is a large marina and town located on the left bank of River Orne.

Along the coast one can find the sea side resort Riva-Bella, in which the first house was built in 1866. The combination of the two became Ouistreham Riva-Bella.

Courseulles-sur-Mer is an old fishing harbour and marina located at the mouth of the Seulles and is renowned for its oysters. It is possible to visit the oyster farm all year round.

Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes is a town located in the Calvados department in the region of Basse-Normandie.

Located between the Pointe de Hoc in the west and Arromanches-les-Bains in the east, the Bessin coast offers a succession of cliffs.

The beaches are rare compared to the other coasts in Calvados. Sainte-Honorine-des-Perte is located in the east of Omaha Beach, a small Norman village.

Port-en-Bessin-Huppain is a commune located in the Calvados department in the Basse-Normandie region.
