Enjoy urt area

The best way to discover our region is by walking via our numerous footpaths. Maps and descriptions are available at the Office of Tourism on 'Place du Marché'

Urt is part of a certified footpaths network. The itinerary covers a part of the Atlantic coast, crosses the dunes and the Landes forest and reaches the north of the Basque region.

The GR 8 leads the ramblers from the Adour to the Pyrenees, from the Urt bridge to the Sare caves, then deeper into the Basque country up the Spanish border from where the GR 10 starts.

Ramblers and walkers can relax and picnic in the forest at the newly renovated tables and benches. Also, a one and a half hour visit together with a ranger can be organized for groups of 10 to 15 people. This allow visitors to have a better insight and knowledge about the forest.
