In 1607, Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne founded the Academy of the Exercises. About 80 protestants were daily trained in the art of weapons and war. This Academy was closed in 1685 by Louis XIV. In 1629, the Lambermont hotel was built beside the Academy. In 1688, the Academy and the Lambermont hotel were purchased by Denis Rousseau, a cloth merchant. In 1726, the building became a Royal factory of sheets. The "Cour des Têtes" is classified as a historic monument.
