Older than 1 000 years but protected by the creation, in 1974, of a conservation area, Honfleur always exercises the same fascination, in particular on the artists who are still very many to come to immortalize the witnesses(batons) of past historic and maritime prestigious sound.

Museum Eugene Boudin

Created in 1868 by Alexandre Dubourg and Eugène Boudin, children of Honfleur, he knew how to keep(guard) the spirit of his founders by presenting works of the artists which, in the XIXth century, drew their inspiration from the region, Romantic to the Impressionists and to Wildcats(Fawns).
The museum presents an important collection of preimpressionistic and contemporary paintings(boards) of Norman painters having stayed at Honfleur: Courbet, Sausage, Dubourg, Jongkind, Monet, Dufy, Friesz, Gernez, Hamburg, Herbo …

A room shelters an important Norman ethnographical collection: headgears, suits(costumes), furniture …

Visit of the museum Erik Satie:

Provided with earphones of an innovative process, the visitor is guided in a succession of musical paintings(boards) at the rate of Erik Satie's work.
