Turckheim - a charming village

Starting from the Office of tourism, the 2 km tour takes you to the vineyards. The tour lasts about an hour and is marked out with about twenty posts explaining a lot about wine making (grapes, vine etc).

The tour offers great views on the town of Turckheim as well as on the Alsatian plains and Vosgians hills.

Turckheim vineyards is stretched on about 500 ha. The soil is very diverse depending on the sites: Granitic, chalky, chalky clayey and alluvial soils. the most prestigious site is the 'Brand', a small depression opening on the south of the region that enjoys maximum sun exposure as well as being sheltered from the cold north and east winds.

Turckheim has maintained its medieval feels with its three doors as well as other important vestiges on the city walls.

The tour last about 50 min and starts from the Office of Tourism, this will make you discover

• The 'Hôtel des 2 clés' a former cabaret where Hortense Mancini, wife of the Duke of Mazarin stayed for a while,
