LAVARDENS Castle, a Castral village, the fief of the Counts d' Armagnac, was rebuilt in the XVIIth century by Antoine de Roquelaure, the companion of Henri IV. Overhanging towers, outstanding pavements, an echo room, a panoramic sight turned this castle into an architectural wonder.

Built by Pierre de Nogaret de la Valette back from Italy wars, in the middle of the 16th century, on the site of an ancient fortified castle which had belonged to Gaston Phoebus.

It is the native land of Pousse-Rapière and the center of an important vine land.
