Exposition : touché coulé !

In 2007, the Maritime Museum presented the exhibition in Paris Boat toys, from 1850 to 1950, the first of its kind, and highlighted a full century of maritime history toys. Luxury objects, sometimes made in a single, democratic toys manufactured on a large scale or digital games available online, they reveal the growing interest in the child and what society expects of them.

Propaganda objects, captivating entertainment media opening on adventure and essential messengers of maritime culture, these toys pose the question of their educational value, between technique and patriotism. Despite the sometimes tenuous links they have with the Navy's reality, they form an amazing extension of the ships produced and maintained at the same time in major French arsenals including Rochefort then part.

Between dream and pedagogy, this arsenal of toy boats opens all doors of an inexhaustible imagination.
