Exposition : des embruns dans les bulles


The temporary exhibition at the International Center of the Sea invites you to a beautiful sea voyage treated like a travel diary. The goal? A round up of maritime heritage through a selection of cartoonists.
So you will encounter six cartoonists:
Simon Andriveau (Grand Siècle) François Bourgeon (The Wind Passengers) Bruno Le Floc'h (Bursts Three white, ultramarine Chronicles) Patrice Pellerin (The Hawk) Guillaume Sorel (Typhon) and Patrick Jusseaume (Tramp).
Six archetypal atmosphere of the sea journey will be offered: the docks, departure, the boat, the sea, the coast and the Tavern!
For the set design, each stage of the journey will be formalized by the "sea cans". Visitors will discover the essential elements that constitute a maritime comics (the storm, the maneuvers on board, meals, hierarchy), how an author appropriates the theme, how each graphically addresses and if there is a common vision beyond pictorial differences.
Finally, the visitor will have crossed four centuries of marine and discovered six authors that revisit the maritime universe.
This trip will be punctuated with stops biographical too! Each author will be interviewed at his home in his creative privacy, to deliver his work reading keys
the visitor: his sources of inspiration, the development and production of an album.

- Cords and ropes: Continuous lively permanent exhibition. Projection on the history of the site, rope making workshop "marine knots." Audio guides available for free (English, French, German) suitable for hearing impaired splicers.
