Château de Regnéville

The medieval castle of Régneville was built near the haven of Regnéville, in order to house the merchants who came there to get shelter in the harbour. During the 14th century, ships came from all the western Europe to Regnéville to trade during the Montmartin big fair. It was also a major site during the Hundred Years’ War but it was destroyed during the French Wars of Religion, in 1637. Afterwards, its residents restored it and it was listed as a French historical monument in 1991. Today, it houses many exhibitions.
