Rare and exceptional natural site, the Caves of La Balme offer an unexpected discovery for the whole family in the heart of the underground world.

Come and discover our labyrinths, underground lake, stalactites and stalagmites, amphitheater of rimstone dams... during a self-guided tour (about 60 minutes).

Visited since 1807, the Caves of La Balme reveal their History and their mysteries all along a one-kilometer path.

Located in Nord-Isère (France), in the village of La Balme-les-Grottes, our caves are a great point of interest of the Balcons du Dauphiné area.

During summer time and winter time, the Caves of La Balme are always temperate and sheltered from the rain. Then, the site can be visited all year long and in all weather.

The Caves of La Balme are in Nord-Isère, at 40 minutes from Lyon (Rhône) and at 50 minutes from Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère), Villefranche-sur-Saône (Rhône) and Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain) !
