Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste d'Aulès


The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Aules is on the Common Doazit in the French department of Landes. The church and the porch of the cemetery are subject to a classification as historic monuments by order of November 8, 2004. The church consists of a Romanesque apse decorated with an arch and a Gothic nave which open two side chapels. It was fortified in the fourteenth century by the construction of a gatehouse to the west. In 1435, a stately chapel was built against the north side of the tower. The porch of the cemetery was a work dating from the seventeenth or eighteenth century framing and roof were completely redone in the same in 2010.
