Heritage day at the historic mining center

The theme of the European Heritage Days 2017 being "Youth and Heritage", what could be more natural for the Center's team than to propose a guided tour entitled "Cure de Jouvence" for the Delloye Pit. During this visit, discover the infrastructures of the day such as the tile, the wells, the buildings of the extraction machines, the sorting, the railway network, the personnel building ... but also the architectural aspects of the mine.

Indeed, the mining companies, as true architects, have endeavored to bring to industrial buildings decorative touches as well in the play of materials as in the ornamentation of certain elements. Classified Historic Monument since 2009, the Historical Mining Center is currently benefiting from a work on metal structures in order to preserve this rare heritage, which will be presented during this visit.

Children will also be able to discover the various mining infrastructures thanks to the workshop "Le petit architecte" or how to build the buildings of the mine in wooden planks ... which will enable them to reconstitute them in miniature.

Free access to exhibitions and entertainment. Guided tour at 10 am, 2 pm and 4 pm (duration 45 minutes). Workshop at 11h and 14h (duration 30 min). Booking on 03 27 95 82 96. Guided tour of the galleries at reduced price (6,70 €).
