Impressionism and the americans
Through more than 70 paintings in Europe and the United States between 1880 and 1900, the exhibition highlights the specificity of American Impressionism. Many expatriates marked Impressionism their mark working alongside French artists.
After them, there are many Americans who have implemented this "New Painting" to their native territory, offering a renewed American landscape, bright and luminous vision.
Cassatt to Sargent through Whistler, Americans have embraced the new French trends while affirming their touch and their motives, and amazing independent identity.
