The charolles organ days : discover the serpent !

An instrument as remarkable as the Charolles organ must provide not only the extremely popular Market Concert series, but also a Festival during which some of the greatest works in the repertory can be heard. 

Three days, three concerts ...  and time to enjoy the subtle charm of the Charolais-Brionnais region and its treasures :  romanesque chapels nestling in the wooded countryside, the famous white Charolais cattle and the resulting delights of refined eating ...  these are pleasures which are entirely compatible with the colourful sounds of the organ !

Before the Couperin concert at 20h30, Volny Hostiou will present and illustrate the serpent, an instrument you possibly have not ever heard about.  With male voices, the effect is remarkable and that is why it was largely used in French churches until about a century ago.  Free entry.
